Strategic Plan

Introduction

The Ontario Lawn Bowls Association’s (OLBA) current strategic plan covers 2022 to 2025. The OLBA Board of Directors
initiated the process of refreshing this plan in October 2024.

In the fall 2024, the Board examined progress against the current plan, and consulted with OLBA Board Directors and
Member Clubs regarding the OLBA’s priorities and what the OLBA should start, continue, and stop doing. Then the Board
held a half-day on-line retreat, supported by a facilitator, to access, measure, and prioritize the OLBA’s strategic goals for
the next three years. The first portion of the day focused on strategic prioritization and the second portion concentrated on
developing a roadmap for priorities. Over the following months the Board worked to refine the goals and develop further details (e.g. actions steps, measures, timeframes). The OLBA is in the process of developing an operational plan to address day-to-day activities and short-term objectives and develop a performance management process to monitor progress.

The focus of this plan is on areas where the OLBA wants to strengthen/enhance our programs and capacity. The OLBA will
continue to operate our existing programs, key amongst those is our championship programs. The championships are evolving as we collaborate with Bowls Canada as they continue to make changes to the format of the national
championships over the next several years.

Note: The OLBA Bylaws defines ‘members’ as lawn bowling clubs that belong to the Association. In this document, clubs
may be referred to as clubs, members or member clubs. Bowlers refers to individuals who belong to clubs (either as
bowling or social members). And Directors refers to the OLBA Board of Directors. The plan was approved by the OLBA Board of Directors on January 19, 2025.
